Ammonia 10 %

Ammonia in 10% solution, prepared by combining 25% ammonia and aqua distillata, offers a wide range of applications in various fields. It is used in medical diagnostics for the determination of ammonium concentration by optical tests and in histology and metallography as an etchant, especially for metals such as copper, silver or aluminum and high-alloy steels. In chemical synthesis and pharmacy it is used for the production of active ingredient salts such as ammonium chloride and ammonium bituminosulfonate. It can be used as an additive in detergents to neutralize chlorine and formaldehyde and is suitable for cleaning galvanized steel. Due to its chemical formula NH4OH, ammonia is dissolved in water where it acts as a weak base and can absorb protons (H+). This gives it its versatile chemical properties and applications.
