Alkaline fuchsin, concentrated, alcoholic
Basic fuchsin, concentrated, alcoholic, is shown to be a significant ingredient in numerous laboratory techniques. The combination of denatured ethanol and basic fuchsin enables intense red coloration of biological materials. Based on the chemical structure of fuchsin (C20H19N3 - xCl) and its binding affinity to biological structures, it is capable of visualizing proteins and nucleic acids. When dispersed in an alcoholic medium, basic fuchsin can penetrate deep into tissue structures and ensure high-contrast imaging. The solution is mostly used in histological and microbiological applications. It is used in Gram staining, for the visualization of bacteria, and in Ziehl-Neelsen staining for the detection of mycobacteria. Thus, basic fuchsin, concentrated, alcoholic, contributes to the expansion of the diagnostic spectrum.
