Staining Kit: AAS (SAFELINE)
The staining kit AAS - Astrablau-Auramin-Safranin (SAFELINE) is used for histological staining of botanical samples. Different structures such as cell walls, cell nuclei and cytoplasm can be stained effectively and differentiated. Astra blue stains acidic, especially plant cell wall structures blue, while auramine stains sulfur-containing and basic structures, such as cell nuclei, yellow. Safranin O in turn stains basic structures, such as the cytoplasm, red. SAFELINE rinsing solution and INCLUDAL PVA support the staining process and allow clear visualization and analysis of cell and tissue structures under the microscope, which is important for research and teaching.
Astra blue binds to acidic polysaccharides and nucleic acids, revealing basophilia and nucleation. Auramine, a fluorescent dye, attaches to mycobacteria and facilitates their identification under ultraviolet light. Safranin O, a cationic dye, selectively interacts with acidic structures such as cartilage, proteoglycans and nucleic acids and provides contrast in stained specimens. The combination of these dyes enables differential staining and detailed visualization of cell structures for precise analyses.
