Staining Kit: TB Staining (hot) after ZIEHL-NEELSEN
The Ziehl-Neelsen TB staining kit (hot) is a staining kit specifically designed for the detection of acid-fast mycobacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Ziehl-Neelsen hot staining is a proven method in the diagnosis of tuberculosis and other infections caused by acid-fast bacteria.
The staining kit contains the following components:
1. Ziehl-Neelsen carbolic fuchsin: This red dye, used in combination with phenol and alcohol, allows good penetration into cells. The sample is first treated with the carbolfuchsin solution and then heated to increase the depth of penetration of the dye and improve binding to the acid-fast bacteria.
2. Acid decolorization solution: after heating and cooling, the sample is treated with an acid decolorization solution to decolorize non-acid-fast cells and structures. Acid-fast bacteria retain the carbolfuchsin dye and appear bright red in color, while other cellular structures lose color.
3. Hemalaun counterstaining: to improve visualization and differentiation of structures within the tissue sample, counterstaining with Hemalaun is performed. Hemalaun stains cell nuclei in a blue hue, making acid-fast bacteria easier to identify in contrast to other cell structures.
The Ziehl-Neelsen TB Staining Kit (hot) allows laboratories to achieve reliable and accurate staining of tissue samples, which is essential for the study of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other acid-fast bacteria. The kit provides an optimal combination of reagents to ensure easy and efficient performance of staining to achieve meaningful results for diagnostics and research.
