Kit: FARMER attenuator

The FARMER Attenuator Kit is a specially formulated mixture for laboratory applications consisting of Potassium Hexacyanoferrate(III) 5% and Sodium Thiosulfate 5%. It is ideal for use in photographic processes, particularly in the attenuation of silver halides, which play a central role in conventional photography. The chemical reaction of potassium hexacyanoferrate(III), also known as red blood leach salt, with sodium thiosulfate creates a reducing medium that converts silver halides into soluble silver thiosulfate. This process allows control of the density of photographic films and papers. In addition, FARMER's attenuator can be used in microscopy and histology for special staining procedures.
