Light Green 0.5 %
In histology and cytology, Light Green 0.5% solution is used for staining cell preparations and tissue sections. It is a component of trichrome staining according to Charvat, which is applied in meat examination to show differences between muscle meat and connective tissue.
The solution is characterized by its special suitability for staining basic or eosinophilic cell components. It binds to these cell structures and gives them a green color. Due to this property, the solution enables differentiated visualization of cytoplasmic and extracellular structures, which facilitates detailed examination of cell structures and tissues under the microscope.
On a chemical level, the staining effect of light green is based on ionic interactions and hydrogen bonding between the dye and cellular components. The dye is dissolved in Aqua bidest, which ensures homogeneous distribution and thus uniform dyeing.
In interaction with other dyes, such as hematoxylin or eosin, the light green 0.5% solution enables differentiated visualization of various cell structures and tissue components and thus supports the identification of different cell types and morphological changes.
