Staining Solution after MALLORY
MALLORY staining solution is mainly used for staining connective tissue and collagen fibers in histological specimens. It is particularly widely used in medical diagnostics and histopathology, as it highlights important structures clearly and in different colors.
The solution is particularly suitable for visualizing collagen fibers, which are stained blue, and red blood cells, which are stained orange. This allows detailed visual analysis of tissue and facilitates the detection of abnormalities or pathology.
Chemically, MALLORY staining solution consists of aniline blue, orange G and oxalic acid dissolved in water. Aniline blue binds to collagen fibers, orange G binds to erythrocytes, and oxalic acid acts as a mordant that intensifies dye binding.
The way it works is based on affine binding of the dyes to specific tissue components. Through selective staining, MALLORY staining solution enables clear contrasting and thus improves tissue differentiation under the microscope.
