Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) in 0.9% solution acts as an oxidizing agent and disinfectant when used in in vitro diagnostics. NaOCl reacts with tissue or cell structures and selectively destroys proteins, membrane lipids and nucleic acids. This binding produces chlorinated derivatives and radicals that trigger further chemical reactions and lead to the destruction of pathogens or cell structures. Aqua dest. / deionized water serves as the solvent in this composition and enables uniform distribution of the active ingredient for optimal efficacy.
