RAKOFF’s Staining
RAKOFF staining solution is a special, fast-acting staining method used in hormonal cytodiagnostics. It enables rapid and reliable evaluation of the hormonal status of the vaginal mucosa based on smears.
The main components of RAKOFF staining solution are eosin G and light green yellowish. Eosin G, a fluorescent dye, binds to proteins and stains them bright red. Light green yellowish is an acid dye used especially for staining cell components with basic character, such as cell nuclei. The combination of these two dyes enables differentiated and detailed visualization of tissue structures.
