Phosphate Buffer Stock Solution 0.2 mol/l
The 0.2 mol/l phosphate buffer stock solution is a concentrated solution used to prepare buffer solutions in various pH ranges. Phosphate buffers are important buffer systems in biological and chemical laboratories because they are stable in a pH range of about 6.0 to 8.0, close to physiological pH values.
The stock solution consists of a mixture of sodium dihydrogen phosphate (NaH2PO4) and disodium hydrogen phosphate (Na2HPO4) or their corresponding salts in various ratios to adjust the desired pH value. The desired concentration and pH of the working solution can be achieved by diluting the stock solution with water or other suitable solvents.
Phosphate buffers are widely used in biological experiments, for example, to stabilize proteins, to dissolve nucleic acids, or as buffer media in cell culture media.
