GALLAY’s Stain (Stock Solution I)
GALLYAS staining (stock solution I) is based on an aqueous solution in which sodium carbonate is dissolved anhydrously. This stock solution plays an important role in GALLYAS staining, which is applied in histological examination.
GALLYAS staining is mainly used to visualize neurofibrillary tangles, degenerative changes in nervous tissue and for the analysis of Alzheimer's disease-associated structures. The chemical operation of stock solution I lies in the provision of sodium carbonate, which serves as a buffer and to adjust the pH in the staining solution.
The special suitability of this stock solution lies in its application together with other components of GALLYAS staining. In combination with the other stock solutions, it enables highly specific and high-contrast staining of relevant structures in histological specimens. GALLYAS staining (stock solution I) is particularly suitable for the examination of nervous tissue and for the identification of neurodegenerative changes. The application of this stock solution is aimed at specific questions in histology and is not intended for general staining.
