NEISSER’s Solution III (Chrysoidine)

NEISSER Solution III (Chrysoidin) is an aqueous-alcoholic solution of the dye Chrysoidin G and is used in microbiology and bacteriology. Its special suitability lies in its use as a dye in Neisser staining, especially for the identification of Gram-negative diplococci such as Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Neisseria meningitidis.

The chemical functioning of the solution is based on the binding of chrysoidin G, a basic dye, to the acidic components of bacterial cells, highlighting them in the microscopic image. Ethanol serves as a solvent to increase the solubility of chrysoidin G in water.

Compared to other products, NEISSER solution III (chrysoidin) stands out for its effectiveness in Neisser staining.
