Xylene aniline oil (1:1)
The xylene-aniline oil solution (1:1) is used as a component in staining kits, especially in GRAM staining according to WEIGERT. This mixture of xylene and aniline oil provides a versatile reagent used specifically for preparing tissue specimens and improving microscopy image quality. Xylene helps remove excess aqueous dyes and facilitates penetration of the subsequent oil. Aniline oil, on the other hand, acts as a so-called mounting medium, which increases the clarity of microscopic images and preserves specimens. The use of this solution helps to obtain clear, sharp, and well-contrasted microscopic images, enabling precise and efficient analysis.
