Staining Kit: AZAN after HEIDENHAIN

The AZAN staining kit according to Heidenhain is a staining kit suitable for visualizing collagenous and reticular connective tissue, cell nuclei, muscle tissue, erythrocytes, glial fibrils and acid mucosubstances. The staining provides good differentiation and visualization of the various tissue types and cell structures.

The staining kit consists of aniline alcohol, acetic alcohol 1%, azo carmine, phosphotungstic acid 5%, and aniline blue orange G-use solution.

The various components of the kit produce the following staining results: Collagenous and reticular connective tissue is shown in blue; cell nuclei, muscle tissue, erythrocytes and glial fibrils are stained in red, with muscle tissue showing a red-orange hue. Acidic mucosal substances are also shown in blue.
