TECHNOVIT® EPOX
Technovit EPOX is a 3-component epoxy resin system used in plastics chemistry and scientific laboratories. It allows individual adjustment of curing time, pot life and temperature load. It is mainly used for embedding histological specimens, where it achieves excellent results due to its chemical properties and low shrinkage.
The chemical components of Technovit EPOX are epoxy resins, curing agents and special fillers, the exact amounts of which are not publicly available. Epoxy resins are polymers composed of epoxy monomers and cured by reactions with curing agents. In this case, the epoxy resin system consists of a 3-component mixture that offers high handling flexibility.
During the chemical reaction, the epoxy rings are opened and linked with the curing agents, creating a three-dimensional network. This cross-linking results in increased temperature resistance and strength of the cured material. The end result of this process is a hard, crystal-clear plastic that is suitable for a wide range of applications.
